Gợi ý & tài liệu
People are usually more willing to get to know new people when the situation feels natural and low-pressure. For example, at weddings, birthday parties, university clubs, workshops, or company events, there is already a shared purpose, so it is easier to start talking. People also meet new friends in cafes, gyms, language classes, volunteer activities, and online communities, especially if they have a common interest. A conversation often begins with something simple, like asking how the person knows the host, commenting on the event, or talking about work, study, hobbies, or food. In Vietnam, some people may feel a bit shy when speaking with foreigners, mainly because they worry about making mistakes in English or not understanding cultural differences. However, younger people are generally more open-minded now because they have more exposure to international media and travel. Some people avoid conversations because they are introverted, tired, insecure, or afraid of being judged. Others may simply not want to make small talk with strangers. As for adults talking with children, I think it can be difficult if adults use complicated language or expect children to think like adults. But if they are patient, ask easy questions, and show genuine interest, children usually become much more comfortable.
