Yes, I’d say people in my country do say sorry quite often, but it depends on the situation. In everyday life, people usually apologise for small things, like bumping into someone, being late, or interrupting a conversation. However, when it comes to more serious mistakes, some people may find it harder to say sorry directly because they don’t want to lose face or admit they were wrong in front of others. I think it’s very important to teach children to say sorry, but not in a mechanical way. If a child just repeats the word “sorry” without understanding what they did, it doesn’t mean much. Parents and teachers should help children realise how their actions affect other people, so the apology becomes sincere rather than just a polite habit. It’s also essential to teach children to respect others because respect is the basis of healthy relationships. If children learn to listen, take turns, and treat people fairly, they are more likely to become considerate adults. In my view, saying sorry and respecting others are closely connected because both show that you care about other people’s feelings, not just your own.
