In my view, the biggest difference is purpose. Older people tend to use the Internet in a more practical and cautious way: they check the weather, read the news, message family on apps like Zalo, or look up health and banking information. Young people, on the other hand, use it as a whole ecosystem for entertainment, study, shopping, gaming, social networking, and even building a personal brand. They are usually quicker at switching between apps, but they may also be more easily distracted. Libraries are still useful, although they serve a narrower group than before. Students, researchers, elderly readers, and people who need a quiet place may still go there to read or study. A library is not just a room full of books; it provides a calm environment, reliable materials, and equal access for people who cannot afford every textbook or digital subscription. So yes, I would say libraries are still necessary, especially for education and community learning. As for news and media, many people prefer reading news online because it is faster, more personalized, and easier to update than TV. With television, viewers usually follow a fixed schedule and receive information passively. The Internet is more interactive: people can compare sources, watch short clips, read comments, and search for background information immediately. In Vietnam, apps such as Zalo, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Messenger, and e-commerce apps are among the most widely used, while more niche apps, for example some academic, productivity, or foreign-language platforms, are probably less popular with the general public.
