Gợi ý & tài liệu
In my country, most people find out about the news through their phones, especially social media platforms, online newspapers, and short news videos. Traditional TV news still matters, particularly for older people, but younger generations usually get updates from Facebook, YouTube, or news apps because it is faster and more convenient. The downside is that people sometimes read headlines without checking whether the information is reliable, so misinformation can spread quite easily. I think people are often more interested in local news because it affects their daily lives directly, such as traffic, weather, crime, school issues, or changes in prices. However, national news becomes more important when there is an election, a major policy change, or a serious social problem. International news is also important because countries are connected now. For example, wars, economic problems, or health crises in other parts of the world can influence jobs, prices, travel, and public opinion at home. Discussion programmes involving ordinary members of the public are popular because they make serious issues feel more relatable. Instead of only hearing experts or politicians speak, audiences can listen to people who have real experiences and strong personal opinions. The people who take part are often those who are directly affected by an issue, people who enjoy public debate, or individuals who want their voices to be heard. These programmes can influence people in a good way if they encourage critical thinking and expose viewers to different perspectives. But they can also have a negative effect if the debate becomes emotional, biased, or designed mainly to create conflict rather than understanding.
