Children’s bad behavior is often quite ordinary rather than seriously harmful. For example, young children may throw tantrums, interrupt adults, refuse to share toys, or ignore instructions when they are tired or overstimulated. In public places, they might run around, shout, touch things they should not touch, or demand attention in a way that disturbs other people. I think this usually happens because children are still learning self-control and social boundaries, not because they are deliberately trying to be rude. Parents can deal with this by setting clear rules before going out and following through calmly when those rules are broken. For instance, they can say what behavior is expected in a restaurant or supermarket, and if the child misbehaves, they might take them aside, speak firmly but quietly, and give a reasonable consequence. I don’t think shouting at a child in public is very effective, because it can embarrass the child and make the situation worse. Consistency is probably the key. As for whether parents today are stricter, I would say in many families they are less strict than parents in the past. Previous generations often believed in obedience and punishment, while many modern parents focus more on communication and emotional understanding. That said, today’s parents face different pressures, such as screen time and social media, so they may be strict in new ways, like limiting devices or monitoring online behavior.
