Yes, I definitely think students should have physical education and play sports at school. It is not just about producing future athletes; it is about helping young people build a healthier lifestyle. Many students spend hours sitting in classrooms or looking at screens, so PE gives them a chance to move, release stress, and learn discipline. It can also teach teamwork, fair play, and how to cope with losing, which are useful lessons outside sport as well. A good athlete, in my opinion, needs more than natural ability. Of course, talent matters because some children seem to have better coordination, speed, or physical strength from an early age. However, talent alone is rarely enough. Top athletes usually have mental toughness, consistency, and the ability to keep training even when progress is slow. Identifying children’s talents is not always easy either, because some kids develop late, and others may not shine until they find the right sport or coach. In my country, football is probably the most popular sport because it is easy to play, cheap, and brings people together. Still, there are relatively few top athletes because elite sport requires a whole system, not just passion. Young players need good facilities, professional coaching, financial support, nutrition, and strong competitions. Without those things, even talented children may never reach their full potential.
