Gợi ý & tài liệu

Young people tend to read books that feel relevant to their daily lives or give them some kind of escape. For example, many teenagers and young adults enjoy fantasy, romance, science fiction, self-help books, biographies of successful people, and books related to money, productivity, or mental health. I think social media also influences their choices a lot, because if a book becomes popular on TikTok or Instagram, young people are more likely to pick it up. Compared with older people, young people often read in a more flexible and fragmented way. They may read e-books on their phones, listen to audiobooks while commuting, or read short sections between other activities. Older people, on the other hand, may prefer a more traditional routine, such as reading a newspaper in the morning or sitting down with a printed novel. Of course, this is a generalisation, but I think older readers are often more patient with long and serious books, while younger readers usually want something fast-paced and easy to connect with. As for paper books and e-books, paper books are more comfortable for the eyes and give people a stronger sense of ownership, especially if they like collecting books. E-books are more convenient because you can carry hundreds of titles on one device, adjust the font size, and read almost anywhere. Personally, I think both have their place. I would use an e-book when travelling, but I still prefer a physical book if I want to focus deeply. I do agree that children who start reading early have an advantage. Reading from a young age builds vocabulary, imagination, concentration, and general knowledge, which can help them at school and later in life. However, reading alone does not guarantee success. Children also need curiosity, confidence, support from parents and teachers, and opportunities to apply what they learn.
