Gợi ý & tài liệu

In sports, I would say following the rules is more important than winning, because the whole point of sport is fair competition. Of course, athletes train hard and they naturally want to win, but if someone wins by cheating, the victory becomes meaningless. Rules create trust between players, coaches, and spectators, so without them, a game is just a show of power rather than skill. That said, I don’t think truth-telling is always completely black and white. In everyday life, there may be moments when a small lie is used to protect someone’s feelings, for example not being brutally honest about a gift you dislike. But I don’t think lies are acceptable when they harm others, hide serious mistakes, or give someone an unfair advantage, like in sport or business. It can be hard to know when people are lying, but I usually look for inconsistency in their story rather than just body language. Some people avoid eye contact when they are nervous, not because they are dishonest. So I think the best clue is whether their words match the facts and whether their explanation changes over time. In general, we should aim to tell the truth as much as possible, but we also need tact, because honesty without kindness can sometimes do unnecessary damage.
