I think the biggest difference is not just technical ability, but the way each group approaches apps. Younger people usually treat apps as a natural part of daily life, so they are more willing to experiment with new features, change settings, and switch from one platform to another. Older people may be more cautious, especially if the app involves online banking, health records, or sharing personal information. They often prefer apps that are simple, predictable, and clearly useful. Another difference is purpose. Young people tend to use apps for socialising, entertainment, studying, shopping, and even managing their schedules. Many older users also use messaging or video-call apps, but they may rely on fewer apps and use them mainly for practical needs, like contacting family, checking the weather, or making payments. So young users may value speed and variety, while older users may value reliability and ease of use. Some people do not like using apps because they feel overwhelmed by constant updates, notifications, passwords, and privacy concerns. Others may have had a bad experience, such as being scammed online or losing access to an account, so they become less confident. In my view, apps are useful, but if the design is confusing or the user feels pressured to use them, they can become a source of stress rather than convenience.
