I don’t think there is one perfect age, but children can start drawing very early, even around two or three, as long as it feels like play rather than a formal lesson. At that age, the aim should not be to produce a beautiful picture; it should be to let them explore colours, shapes, and hand movements. More structured teaching, like learning perspective or shading, can come later, maybe around seven or eight, when they have better patience and control. Most children draw more often than adults because they are less self-conscious. They don’t worry too much about whether their picture is realistic or impressive, while adults often judge themselves and say, “I’m not artistic.” Children also use drawing as a way to express feelings or stories before they can explain everything in words. As for galleries and museums, I think people still visit them because seeing art in person creates a stronger emotional impact. The size, texture, lighting, and atmosphere are hard to appreciate on a phone screen. I do think major public museums should be free or at least affordable, because art is part of cultural education, not just entertainment. Artworks can inspire people by helping them see ordinary life differently, reflect on history, or even become more creative in their own work.
