What are the differences between the technology of the past and that of today?

I think the biggest difference is that technology in the past was much more limited and single-purpose, while technology today is connected, portable, and multifunctional. For example, a few decades ago, people used separate devices for calling, listening to music, taking photos, and getting information. Now a smartphone can do all of those things instantly, and it also connects us to services like online banking, maps, translation tools, and social media. Another major difference is speed and accessibility. In the past, technology often belonged to offices, schools, or wealthier families, and people had to wait longer to receive information or communicate across long distances. Today, even ordinary users can access powerful tools through the internet, cloud storage, and artificial intelligence. This means people can study, work, shop, or solve problems much more efficiently than before. However, I would say older technology was sometimes simpler and less distracting. People were not constantly receiving notifications or comparing themselves online. Modern technology gives us incredible convenience, but it also creates new problems, such as privacy risks, screen addiction, and overdependence on digital devices. So overall, today’s technology is far more advanced, but it also requires more self-control and digital awareness.
