One place where I felt things were far too expensive was a rooftop café in the city center of Ho Chi Minh City. I went there last year with two friends because we wanted to enjoy the skyline at night and take a few photos. From the outside, it looked stylish and quite exclusive, so I expected it to be a bit pricey, but the actual prices still surprised me. The most expensive things were the drinks and desserts. A simple iced coffee cost almost three times more than it would in a normal café, and even a small slice of cake was about the same price as a full meal at a decent local restaurant. They also added a service charge, so the final bill was higher than we had expected. I thought the prices were too high because the quality didn’t really justify the cost. The view was impressive, and the atmosphere was relaxing, but the food and drinks were fairly ordinary. In my opinion, we were mainly paying for the location and the view rather than the actual products. I didn’t regret going there, but I probably wouldn’t go back unless it was for a special occasion.
