One place where I found it really easy to study was a small public library near my old apartment. It was on a quiet side street, about ten minutes from where I lived, so I could walk there whenever I needed to focus. I used to study there quite often during my final year at university, especially in the afternoons when I had long reading assignments or exam preparation to get through. What made it ideal was the atmosphere. The library was bright but not too noisy, and it had large wooden desks, comfortable chairs, and plenty of natural light coming through the windows. There was also a separate study area where people were not allowed to talk, so I didn’t have to deal with phone conversations or background chatter. Compared with studying at home, where I was easily distracted by my phone or household chores, the library helped me stay in the right frame of mind. I think I found it easy to study there because the whole environment encouraged concentration. Once I sat down and opened my books, I felt as if I had entered a completely different mode. Seeing other people reading or working quietly also motivated me to be more disciplined. As a result, I could usually study for two or three hours without feeling restless, which was quite rare for me in other places.
