One group I joined was a university photography club. I became a member during my second year at university, when I had just bought a second-hand camera and wanted to learn how to use it properly. At first, I didn’t know anyone there, so I was a bit nervous, but the atmosphere was very friendly and informal. The club organized different activities every week. Sometimes we had workshops on basic techniques, like lighting, composition, and editing. We also went on weekend photo walks around the city, especially to old neighborhoods, markets, and parks. After each trip, we would share our photos and give each other feedback, which helped me improve quite quickly. I decided to join this club because I wanted to do something creative outside my studies. I was also looking for a way to meet people with similar interests, rather than just spending all my time in class or at home. What I liked most was that the club gave me a sense of community, and it made photography feel less like a private hobby and more like a shared experience.
