Describe a person from a different cultural background with whom you enjoy spending time

One person from a different cultural background that I really enjoy spending time with is my friend Daniel, who is from Germany. We met at university when we were both working on a group presentation, and at first I thought he was quite serious and reserved. But after a few conversations, I realised he actually had a very dry sense of humour and was incredibly thoughtful. Since then, we have often had coffee together or gone for walks after class. What I enjoy most about spending time with him is that he gives me a different perspective on everyday things. For example, he is very punctual and direct, which was a little surprising to me at first because in my culture people often communicate in a more indirect way. However, I have come to appreciate his honesty because it makes conversations very clear and meaningful. He has also introduced me to some German traditions, like Christmas markets and simple home-cooked dishes, while I have shared some local food and customs with him. I think our friendship has made me more open-minded. It has taught me that cultural differences do not have to create distance; in fact, they can make a relationship more interesting. When I spend time with Daniel, I feel that I am not only relaxing with a good friend but also learning how to see the world through someone else’s eyes.
