One impressive English lesson I had and really enjoyed was a speaking class at my language centre about two years ago. The topic was storytelling, but instead of just giving us a list of vocabulary or grammar structures, the teacher asked us to tell a personal story in English using photos from our phones. I remember choosing a picture from a short trip with my friends, and I had to describe not only what happened, but also how I felt at that moment. What made the lesson so memorable was the way the teacher created a relaxed but challenging atmosphere. She did not interrupt us every few seconds to correct mistakes. Instead, she took notes quietly and gave feedback after each person finished speaking. For example, she showed me how to replace simple phrases like “very happy” with more natural expressions such as “I was over the moon” or “it really lifted my spirits.” That kind of feedback felt practical and encouraging. I enjoyed the lesson because it made English feel like a real tool for communication, not just a school subject. By the end of the class, I felt much more confident speaking in front of others, and I also realised that fluency is not about being perfect. It is about expressing ideas clearly, reacting naturally, and keeping the listener interested. Since then, I have tried to learn English through stories, conversations, and real-life situations rather than memorising everything mechanically.
