One disagreement I remember quite clearly was with a close friend of mine when we were working on a group presentation at university. We had to prepare a short talk about environmental issues, and I wanted to focus on practical solutions, like reducing plastic waste and improving public transport. My friend, however, thought we should spend most of the presentation talking about the causes of climate change. At first, it was just a normal discussion, but after a while, both of us became a bit stubborn because we believed our own idea was better. The main reason we disagreed was that we had different priorities. I felt that a presentation should be useful and action-oriented, while he believed it should be more academic and detailed. We ended up talking over each other for a few minutes, which made the atmosphere quite tense. Eventually, I suggested that we take a short break and then look at the marking criteria together. That helped us calm down and think more objectively. In the end, we reached a compromise. We spent the first part explaining the causes of climate change and the second part discussing possible solutions. Looking back, I think the disagreement was actually useful because it made our presentation more balanced. It also taught me that when there is a conflict, it is better to focus on the shared goal instead of trying to prove that you are right.
