I’d like to talk about my cousin Minh, who works for his family’s small bakery in my hometown. It’s not a huge business, but it’s quite well known in the neighborhood because his parents have been running it for more than fifteen years. They sell fresh bread, cakes, and traditional pastries, and many customers come back every morning because they trust the quality. Minh’s main job is to manage the front counter and take care of online orders. In the morning, he helps arrange the products, serves customers, and recommends different types of cakes. Later in the day, he updates their social media page, replies to messages, and organizes delivery orders. He is also learning how to bake from his father, so he can gradually take on more responsibility. I think he genuinely enjoys working there because he feels a strong sense of ownership. He once told me that when customers compliment the bread or come back regularly, he feels proud because it is his family’s reputation on the line. Another reason is that the atmosphere is very close-knit. He can work with people he trusts, and his ideas are taken seriously, especially when it comes to promoting the bakery online. Of course, it can be tiring, but he likes the fact that his effort directly helps his family business grow.
