One long journey that really stands out in my mind was a train trip I took from Hanoi to Da Nang a couple of years ago. It was an overnight journey, and I think it lasted around sixteen or seventeen hours, so it was definitely not a quick ride. I travelled with two close friends from university, and we decided to take the train instead of flying because we wanted to enjoy the scenery and make the trip feel more adventurous. The main reason for the journey was that we were going on a short holiday after a very stressful exam period. We had been studying non-stop for weeks, so we wanted to get away from the city and spend a few days near the beach. During the journey, we talked for hours, shared snacks, listened to music, and watched the countryside slowly pass by through the window. At some points, the train went past mountains, rice fields, and small villages, which made the whole experience quite memorable. To be honest, I had mixed feelings about it. At first, I was excited because it felt like the beginning of a real adventure, but after several hours, I started to feel a bit exhausted and uncomfortable because the seats were not very spacious. Still, looking back, I really enjoyed that journey because it gave me time to slow down and appreciate the places between the starting point and the destination. It was tiring, but in a very meaningful way.
