One toy I was really attached to as a child was a set of Lego bricks. It wasn’t a huge or expensive set, just a medium-sized box with different colored blocks, wheels, tiny windows, and a few little figures. I received it from my parents when I was about six or seven, probably as a birthday present, and at that time it felt like the most exciting gift in the world. I used to play with it almost every afternoon after school. Sometimes I followed the picture on the box and tried to build a house or a car, but most of the time I just used my imagination. I built strange-looking castles, spaceships, bridges, and even little cities. If something fell apart, I would simply rebuild it in a different way, so I never really got bored of it. What I loved most was the sense of freedom it gave me. I felt proud whenever I created something by myself, even if it looked a bit messy. Looking back, I think that toy helped me become more patient and creative, because I had to solve small problems while building. It’s a toy I still remember fondly because it made my childhood feel imaginative and full of possibilities.
