One item I spent more on than I had originally planned was a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. I bought them about six months ago, mainly because I was studying in a rather noisy environment and I needed something that could help me concentrate. At first, I thought I would buy a basic pair for around 50 or 60 dollars, but I ended up paying about 220 dollars for a more premium model. The main reason I bought them was that I was preparing for some important exams, and I found it really hard to focus when people were talking around me or when there was traffic noise outside. I tried cheaper earphones before, but they were uncomfortable and the sound quality was not great. When I tested the more expensive headphones in the shop, the difference was immediately noticeable. They were much more comfortable, and the noise cancellation was genuinely impressive. I think I spent more than expected because I underestimated how much quality would matter for something I used every day. Also, the salesperson explained the battery life, warranty, and sound features quite convincingly, so I felt the higher price was justified. Although it was a bit of an impulse upgrade, I do not really regret it because they have made studying, travelling, and even relaxing much easier for me.
