One event that comes to mind was a small outdoor food festival I attended last year in my city. It was held in a riverside park, with lots of food stalls, picnic tables, and a temporary stage for live performances. I went with two close friends from university because we had seen the event advertised online and thought it would be a relaxing way to spend a Saturday evening. We mainly decided to go there for the food rather than the music. The advertisement mentioned several local restaurants and street-food vendors, so we were expecting to try different dishes, take a few photos, and just enjoy the atmosphere. At first, it was quite pleasant because the weather was cool and the place was lively but not too crowded. However, I really didn’t enjoy the music that was played. The band performed extremely loud electronic dance music, which didn’t really match the setting. It felt more like a nightclub than a family-friendly food festival. The bass was so heavy that it was hard to have a proper conversation, and after a while I started to feel a bit irritated rather than relaxed. I wouldn’t say the musicians were bad, but their style just wasn’t to my taste, and it made the whole experience less enjoyable. We ended up leaving earlier than planned and going to a quiet café nearby, where we could actually talk. So, although the food was decent, the music definitely spoiled the mood for me.
